I hadn’t realized it until today, but WordPress has been finalized, and is now at version 1.0. WordPress is a bastard child of b2, which was a PHP-based blogging software that died off but has been resurrected it seems. WordPress continues on the project, and is now sporting advanced features and other goodies. While I love Movabletype, I love PHP-based software more because it is updated dynamically, instead of having to rebuild all the files for PERL-based software. I may give WordPress a try on my roommate’s site, who wants to set up a journal/blog. I’ll update here on what I think once I’ve gotten some time in on it.
