SteelSecurity Review

SteelSecurity is a suite of applications put together into a single interface. It is aimed at the hardcore gamer who wants his/her computer secure while not having it eat away precious resources while gaming, either offline or online. In fact, I’m the type of gamer that has eschewed antivirus software for years entirely because I got tired of forgetting to shut down the program before I start a game.

Everytime I got infected, I’d just reformat and reinstall Windows all over again. It was a complicated solution to the problem, but I had to have my gaming. With SteelSecurity, it looks to provide the solution that I’ve been looking for as a gamer, and I know many other gamers out there too would find it incredibly useful.

The Rapture - Love is All

This song reminds me of the good old days back in the 70’s when rock and roll was pure and fun.  That’s not to say that today’s music is drab or filthy, just not the kind of flair that you’ll hear in this song from The Rapture.  It’s called Love is All, available off the critically acclaimed Echoes album, and it has it all.

Funky bass riffs, sappy falsetto love singing, reverbs to punctuate the sorrowful notes, and a nice throwback to yonder days of 70’s rock.

For iTunes (SpotDJ, The Filter, & Qloud)

There’s been a number of new applications and services recently that are looking to extend the usefulness and fun of iTunes. I’m always looking for new ways to have a better iTunes experience. With that in mind, I thought I’d provide my thoughts on these new iTunes extensions. After the jump, you’ll find my thoughts on Qloud, The Filter, and Qloud.

Tim Tebow takes on the LSU Tigers

Here’s a little highlight video showing how even with limited action, Tim Tebow manages to dismantle the Tigers much vaunted defense:

YouTube has taken down this video, due to it violating copyright (it was televised nationally on CBS.) It looks like Google’s takeover of YouTube is already sending the service down the tube. I guess it was inevitable, but it’s still sad to see it happen.

My Morning Jacket - Gideon (Live)

Based off of the new Okonokos double CD album, this compilation of wonderful songs by My Morning Jacket is a superb way to discover why this band is quite possibly the best live rock band out today.

The song is called Gideon.  Gideon was a warrior king told in the Book of Judges in the Bible, which stated that God commanded him to raise an army and attack the neighboring Midianites and Amalekites.  Read more about Gideon at Wikipedia.  It’s a fascinating tale, and the song is amazing, especially hearing it live.

Blingo Search Updates Look

I’ve been using Blingo for over a year now, and have won 3 movie tickets, an iTunes Music Store gift certificate, and a $25 Visa gift certificate.  Which is nice, since it’s like Google, but you can win prizes just for using it.  All you do is search normally, and if you win, you win!  There’s really no catch at all, whatsoever.  Every prize I won, all I did was fill in my name, address to send the prize to, and that’s it.

Well now Blingo has updated their look, with a slick new feel and bright colors.  To celebrate, they’re giving away some serious prizes.  If I win the 2006 Ford Mustang (or $20,000, your choice) they’re giving away now, I’d probably not be able to enjoy it as I’d just keel over with a heart attack at the ripe old age of 27 years.  They also have $5,000 in cash to give away, a 42-inch plasma television (or $2,500), $1000 in cash, $50 Amazon gift certificate, and more.

There’s really no other reason to use any other search engine.
