I had my first, solid meal today at Adam’s Rib with my aunt, uncle, and grandmother today for lunch. Last week I finally got my new teeth made after having gone for 2 months without them (except for 6 left at the bottom front.) The past week I’ve still been eating mostly the same soft foods that I’ve been eating for months as I get used to the new teeth and get my jaw muscles back into shape after having gone so long without chewing.
I was able to meet up with Aunt Julie, Uncle Bob, and Granny to finally eat a solid meal and test out my new teeth, and I can’t imagine a better place to do so than at Adam’s Ribs in Gainesville. I ordered the 4 rib dinner which came with collard greens and mac ‘n cheese. If my jaw didn’t get so tired so soon I could’ve scarfed the whole meal down right then and there, but at least I have some leftovers for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow morning!
It was a little awkward and difficult to chew but well worth it since it was such a tasty meal. I’ll have to practice more to get the hang of it but I suspect it’ll only be a couple more weeks before I’m completely comfortable with them. It’s nice to be able to smile again, not worry about food getting stuck between the teeth, and the best part is that instead of a toothpaste and toothbrush, I can simply clean my teeth by throwing them into the washing machine.
